Eye Tracking

When young Swedish scientist John Elvesjo was walking around London in the spring of 1999, probably wondering about the increased roaming fee at that time, noone paid attention to the engineer who was only 21 when he disacovered how to control a computer only with your eyes. But this is no suprise - the technology back then was simplified as to the use of a huge mouse and heavy keyboard. He spent more than 10 years improving this innovation and the results now seem more than satisfactory.

Using simple optics, the engineer (who actually dropped from university due to being quite radical in his ideas) has discovered the ultimate way of applying optics to computer control. His device is small, simple and easy to integrate. It uses an infrared ray locator that captures the motion of the eye. The electric signal is then trasmitted to the computer system that locates pixels and changes the screen in accordance with the movements of the eyes. After the movement is being trasmitted, the computer performs a specific function just ike when moving the mouse.

But what is the application of this device - simple and quite efficient. It would be amazing to direct your laser cannons when playing computer games only with your eye. No mouses necessary, no cables, no restrictions like speed and size of the table. The device would inevitably be upgraded so even the keyboard might be discharged from duties. The technology used would also make computers less expensive simply because the hardware installations would no longer be a part of the system and no software to comply with mouses and keyboards would be necessary.
