Paying for the symbol or paying for the product?

One of my friends walks up to me one and says - i’ve got something cool to show you. He takes out his fancy new laptop and flashes the Lamborghini symbol in my face. When he opens it up, its was just a laptop, nothing special, it had a screen, it had a key board and it had speakers. And it did all that horribly. The screen was flimsy, the speakers were barely audible, the keys were… well there were keys nothing to complain.
After he finished showing off, he continued to boast about the price and how limited it was while smoking a cigarette and at the same time talking about how cheap he got a car from cheap us car rental site. I couldn’t get the picture straight. So he was buying a expensive laptop and yet looking for bargains. Then I took out my laptop, without uttering a word, the mac said it all with its appearance, smooth working keyboard and touch pad, glossy screen finish, amazing audio quality, and the list goes on. And as the silence continues, I finished showing it to him, I quietly sit an waited for his response.
After 10 minutes of utter silence in a busy coffee shop while we both sip on our coffee, he fnally utters the words I’ve been waiting for- damn buddy I think I made a mistake. Sure he did, I paid less and got more, he paid for a symbol and got nothing. Just like the same blokes who make a fool out of themselves walking around with their Vertu phones, then their smile is quickly wiped off their face when you take out your E72 and show him, it nothing but a Nokia. The idea is not to get you ticked off, we want you to rather your money for a day when you need to take your wife or girlfriend of an expensive dinner.
